Indian Standard IS 11057:1984 specifies requirements for industrial safety nets made from man-made fibres and intended to protect personnel and/or debris from falling during work at height. The standard covers safety nets used at high-rise buildings, flyovers, roadways/expressways, chimneys, industrial equipment installation, conveyors and shipbuilding works. It specifies requirements for construction, dimensions, mesh, cords, strength, testing, marking, periodic inspection and care of industrial safety nets.
