The Occupational Safety and Health Convention, 1981 (ILO Convention No. 155) establishes international standards for occupational safety, occupational health, and the working environment. The Convention requires member countries to develop and periodically review national occupational safety and health (OSH) policies aimed at preventing workplace accidents, occupational diseases, and work-related injuries. It defines the responsibilities of governments, employers, and workers and promotes safe workplaces, worker participation, hazard prevention, training, inspection, and continuous improvement of occupational safety and health systems.
