📢 Admission Update: Applications have been invited for the Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) for Academic Year 2026–2027 at Regional Labour Institute, Kanpur.

The Regional Labour Institute (RLI), Kanpur is conducting the one-year Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) programme for the Academic Year 2026–27.

The programme is intended to strengthen occupational safety and health management competency and develop professionals capable of assisting management in prevention of personal injuries and maintenance of a safe working environment.

What is the PDIS Course?

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess:

  • Degree or Diploma in any branch of Technology/Engineering
  • OR
  • Degree in Physics or Chemistry as a major subject from a recognized university/institute.

Important Qualification Conditions

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. with Physics or Chemistry as a major subject will be considered only from a UGC-approved College/University.
  • Diploma in Engineering will be considered only from State Board/Directorate/Council of Technical Education or AICTE-approved institutes.
  • B.E./B.Tech degree will be considered only from AICTE-approved institutes or UGC-approved universities.

Minimum Experience Required

Candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity or above.

The cut-off date for calculation of the required experience is 31 July 2026.

Relevant practical experience includes specified experience in:

  • Manufacturing
  • Maintenance
  • Safety Department in a Factory
  • Building and Other Construction Works
  • Government Department entrusted with administration of Safety Legislation
  • Port/Dock work
Important: Experience during the training period, probationary period or apprenticeship period will not be considered. The prospectus also states that foreign-country work experience will not be considered.

Who Can Apply to RLI Kanpur?

According to the jurisdiction specified in the prospectus, candidates currently working in the following states can apply, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility and experience requirements:

  • Uttar Pradesh – excluding NCR
  • Uttarakhand
  • Madhya Pradesh
  • Chhattisgarh
  • Rajasthan

Candidates who are not currently employed may also apply provided they satisfy the prescribed eligibility and relevant experience requirements and are permanent residents of one of the above states.

Such non-working candidates are required to provide valid permanent residence proof such as a Domicile/Residence Certificate or Aadhaar Card showing an address in the applicable jurisdiction.

Application Process

  1. Download the official prospectus and application form.
  2. Read the complete eligibility and jurisdiction requirements.
  3. Fill the prescribed application form completely.
  4. Complete the required Undertaking-cum-Declaration (Annexure-I).
  5. Attach self-attested copies of the applicable supporting documents.
  6. Combine the application form and all supporting documents into a single PDF file.
  7. Send the completed PDF to the prescribed RLI Kanpur email address before the deadline.

Selection Process

The Institute will apply its prescribed selection criteria and publish the list of selected candidates on the DGOSH website or communicate through the email ID provided in the application.

Attendance Requirement

Every student is expected to attend all classes and secure 100% attendance. The prospectus specifies that students shall secure not less than 75% attendance against the total teaching sessions or as per the respective Technical Board norms.
