The Inspectorate Dock Safety (IDS) offices function under the Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. These offices are responsible for enforcement of the Dock Workers (Safety, Health and Welfare) Act and Rules, conducting inspections, accident investigations, safety audits, and promoting occupational safety and health in ports and dock operations.
